Our Vision
THE JOURNAL OF FAMILY PRACTICE will be the preferred source of original research and evidence-based medical information for practicing family physicians, family medicine researchers, and other primary care clinicians.
Our Mission
THE JOURNAL OF FAMILY PRACTICE is committed to:
- Meeting the information needs of family physicians.
- Publishing evidence-based work that translates the results of the most relevant, valid research into a form useful to practicing family physicians.
- Selectively publishing original research that reports outcomes immediately applicable to clinical practice.
- Using the electronic medium to enhance dissemination of evidence-based information and to encourage dialogue among family practice clinicians and researchers.
Now in its 40th year, JFP is published 12 times a year and reaches over 95,000 MDs and DOs in family and general practice, as well as residents in family practice and educators and researchers within the family practice specialty.
JFP is indexed in the following: Index Medicus, Current Contents (Clinical Medicine), Science Citation Index, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, EMBASE/Excerpta Medica, International Pharmaceutical Abstracts, PsycINFO/Psychological Abstracts, and the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature.
The journal is also available in microform from University Microfilms, Ann Arbor, Mich.
