JFP Mission Statement
THE JOURNAL OF FAMILY PRACTICE is committed to:
-
Meeting the information needs of family physicians.
-
Publication of evidence-based secondary work that translates the results of the most relevant, valid research into a form most useful for practicing family physicians.
-
Exploration of electronic publication as a means to enhance and supplement dissemination of original research and evidence-based information to family physicians and family medicine researchers.
THE JOURNAL OF FAMILY PRACTICE is a peer-reviewed scientific journal specifically intended to meet the needs of the specialty of family medicine. JFP is delivered to 95,000 family physicians, general practitioners, and osteopaths in primary care practice each month.
Highest priority is given to studies that address clinical questions or health care delivery topics in primary care. Since our audience consists of both primary care clinicians and researchers, it is important that original research be relevant and useful to the physician in full-time clinical practice. Studies that speak to a relatively small group of researchers may be recommended for electronic publication. Manuscripts will be considered only if they have not been published by another journal.
Specific details about formatting your manuscript can be found under “Manuscript Style and Format."
