Photo Rounds
Do you have images (slides, photos, etc.) of compelling visual cases in clinical medicine? If family physicians would find them interesting, we would like to publish them along with a brief description of the clinical presentation and some questions for the readers. The answer should provide an explanation of the clinical case along with information on differential diagnosis and treatment. The treatment section should use an evidence-based approach and be supported by current references. Please submit high-resolution jpeg images to me by email. We will not accept images embedded in a Word or PowerPoint document. Multiple images may be submitted and interesting connections between these images may be highlighted. Please limit articles to approximately 700 words.

- Presentation and history
- Physical exam
- 1- 2 photographs or images with legends
- Ask a question to the reader, such as: What is the most likely diagnosis?

Answers follow:
- Diagnosis – give the answer and explain how the diagnosis was made
- Incidence/prevalence of the condition
- Differential Diagnosis – give short list and explain how to distinguish each from the real diagnosis
- Epidemiology and pathophysiology (preferred but not required)
- How to make the diagnosis – history and PE findings
- Laboratory tests
- Management (use evidence-based medicine and back of treatment with references)
- The patient’s treatment and outcome
References (approximately 5-6 of the most important references)
References must be numbered in the order in which they appear within the document. (Do not alphabetize the references.) If your article is accepted, you will be asked to provide, via email or Dropbox, PDFs of all references with the cited information highlighted.
May use a few additional images to illustrate the case or diagnosis if these are great images.
