Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation

An application for CME credit has been filed with the AAFP. Determination of
credit is pending. Based on approvals for the 2009 NFMBR course, the following provisional
statement is made.
This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to approximately 78 Prescribed
credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Approximately 73 of these
credits conform to AAFP criteria for evidence-based CME clinical content. When reporting
CME credit hours, AAFP members should report total Prescribed credits earned for
this activity. It is not necessary for members to label credits as evidence-based
CME for CME reporting purposes. The EB CME credit awarded for this activity was
based on practice recommendations that were most current with the strongest level
of evidence available at the time this activity was approved. Since clinical research
is ongoing, the American Academy of Family Physicians recommends that learners verify
sources and review these and other recommendations prior to implementation into
practice.
