Incretin-related therapies: Targeting
the underlying physiology and cardiometabolic factors
of type 2 diabetes

The worldwide increase in obesity has led to a growing number of patients with type 2 diabetes, many of whom have insulin resistance.

This supplement will describe the physiology of incretin hormones in type 2 diabetes, discuss the risks and benefits of incretin-based therapies, and suggest a treatment plan to control hyperglycemia, obesity, and long-term complications.
