Clinical practice in type 2 diabetes: After metformin and lifestyle, then what?

Matching patient-specific characteristics and disease pathophysiology to therapeutic choices can improve outcomes for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This supplement teaches clinicians to work with patients to help them understand the importance of lifestyle modification, and that T2DM is a progressive disease that may require changes in therapy.
